The setup

  • Company: ZUBA — B2B cast-iron stove distributor, DACH
  • Catalog: 300+ SKUs per supplier wave, 3–4 waves per year
  • Intake pattern: supplier PDF catalogs (print-optimised, CMYK, 150 DPI)
  • Target platform: WooCommerce
  • Target market: DACH trade buyers (installers and retailers)
  • Pack size: Pack L per supplier wave, likely stacking Monthly for ongoing waves

Why ZUBA uses Otto

Supplier PDFs are optimised for print catalogs, not shop display. The PDF thumbnails are unusable on a modern WooCommerce product page. Before Otto, ZUBA rekeyed supplier data by hand and shot each stove in a rented studio — a process that could take six weeks per supplier wave.

Otto parses the PDF, extracts SKUs, regenerates shop-quality product images from the PDF thumbnails plus a short description, writes copy in the shop's target languages, and publishes.

Status

Integration scoped. First supplier wave expected to run once Markowitsch pilot validates the pipeline at 700-SKU scale.
